My brain explodes with the F-22. I'm an aerospace engineer and I can't really understand how it's possible for it to do half the things it does
A friend I went with is a good photographer and took a boatload of pictures, they'll end up on Flickr and I'll share them later

Kraut space magic is how.
Our Germans are better than their Germans.

I know an engineer who worked on parts of it. From the parts that he's designed (NASA, Boeing, F18, F22, probably a lot more), I'm blown away.
I'm not sure what I'm really allowed to say about what he does to be honest. I just built his CAD workstation so he can do his work.
What I can say is that the F22 wouldn't be able to stay in the air without what he's designed.

Fly. By. Wire.
I saw an F-22 demo a few years ago at an air show in San Antonio. It was, as you say, mind boggling. Can't wait to see the pics.

I feel like most people simply look at it as a failure and don't realize how truly amazing it is.
I Don't know exactly why it had all the troubles it did, but I feel like a lot came down to management and government confusion or something.
Interviews with pilots are very interesting, how they talk about it being so insanely capable.
Bummer.

My fat 16 month old boy sat on my chest and poked me with a fork and now this response is shared on oppo. Funny how life is sometimes...

I was wondering what was going on. I'm afraid we had no internet when I had my children but I have interesting stories!

I'm only like 15 minutes from there. Unfortunately, I won't be making it down this year, but I've seen a couple of the planes fly by on their way to the show.
